"Women in Black" - Fine Art
"Women in Black" was part of the "Recovery Justice - Being Well" art show. It is oil on cotton canvas 36"x24" also available as a giclee on cotton canvas with a 1 1/2" mirrored gallery wrap and as a giclee on archival paper.
During the last few years many groups of people have felt marginalized and spoke up - some for the first time. This is about powerful women. I write Ekphrastic poetry to go with my paintings. Here are my thoughts on Women in Black:
WOMEN IN BLACK
Mystery is Seductive
Seduction is Powerful
Power is Mysterious
All three the same on the inside
Sheltering what is within from the tide
For women the path is opaque
The line indirect
The road red hot dangerous
Uneven precarious
From Suffrage to Me Too
100 years
more than 100 tears
Still living with fears
Rarely a team
They all dream
Of unity, hoping it is true
Feeling the echos of Me Too
The Crown they overthrew
